David Spurdle

David Spurdle was a teacher from Hornchurch, when he visited Lebanon in 1983, during the Lebanese civil war, and saw first-hand the suffering of children who were in dire need of help. He committed to caring for 60 orphaned boys and founded Kids Alive UK that later became Stand by Me to help care for the kids. Since then, the charity has rescued over 20,000 kids across 11 countries, the Charity helps by providing shelter, food, education and healthcare for children.
